Well, Google increased how many people can be in a Google Chat group
According to a new report from Techradar, Google just increased the max number of people in a group chat from 400 to 8,000! That’s a 20-fold jump. This should be good news if your company has as many employees as the population of a small town. This new change is rolling out to users at the moment, so you should be seeing it within the following few weeks. It’s available to Google Workspace customers as well as G Suite Basic and Business customers.
What is Google Chat?
If you’re not familiar with Google Chat, don’t feel alone. It’s not as big as Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. This is the latest in a long line of attempts by Google to make a chat platform. This is following platforms such as Allo and Hangouts, just to name a few. Google Chat allows people with Google accounts to send instant messages to one another. It functions just like most other chat platforms; Google didn’t exactly reinvent the wheel here. It’s a Google service, so you’ll be able to use it and integrate it with other services. You can access your conversations while using the new Gmail UI. Also, if you’re a Hangouts user, you’ll have access to all of your Hangouts conversations as well.
