The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is expected to offer a less visible crease

The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold did have a visible crease, as does every foldable, though some do a better job with it than others. The OPPO Find N and HONOR Magic V did a great job with hiding the crease, and the MIX Fold 2 may join the ranks. This information basically suggests that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 may utilize a similar hinge as the two aforementioned devices, the teardrop one. The tipster did reveal some additional information about the device. According to Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will include an 8-inch main display, and a 6.5-inch secondary panel. So, it won’t exactly be as compact as the OPPO Find N, not even close to it. It will be closer to the original foldable Xiaomi released.

Both of its display are tipped to offer a 120Hz refresh rate

Both of its displays will utilize a high refresh rate, a 120Hz refresh rate, to be accurate. The first-gen model’s secondary panel had a 60Hz display, that’s something Xiaomi is looking to change this time around. The tipster also mentioned the DC dimming feature, while the main display will also be an LTPO panel. In other words, the main display will support an adaptive refresh rate, which should reflect on the battery life… in a positive way. Xiaomi could opt for TSMC’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 aka the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. That chip is expected to arrive in the near future. Many flagship devices in H2 2022 are expected to utilize it. That chip is expected to offer better thermals than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and better performance overall. The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold launched in March last year, so its successor can’t be that far away at this point. Xiaomi is expected to announce it in the near future. Do note that some rumors suggested a mid-year launch may be in the cards. So, it may launch a bit later than its predecessor, as we’re already at the very end of March.
