If you’re a business professional, you’re undoubtedly in contact with a lot of people throughout the day. Because of this, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the different group chats you’re involved with every day. Because of this, there needs to be a solution to keep everything consolidated.
The WhatsApp Communities tab is now official
WhatsApp teased a new feature that will let people organize their groups into certain communities. It even launched a trailer that really failed to explain what the feature is all about. Now, WhatsApp announced that it’s finally official. When you’re dealing with multiple groups, you’ll be able to group them into certain communities. Let’s say you own a company, and you have several groups about the finances. You can group those into a “Finances” Community. Also, if you have several groups about products, you can put those groups into a “Products” Community. This feature is neat, and it’s optional. You don’t have to be a part of a Community if you don’t want to. You can still be a part of that group without being in a community. Only admins can create the community and pick which groups will be added to it.
There are other WhatApps changes coming, as well
Along with WhatsApp Communities being official, there’s more news coming from the app. Firstly, WhatsApp is the latest platform to implement emoji reactions. Now, people in group chats can respond to messages with emoji reactions rather than writing out messages. Sometimes, it’s better to just give a thumbs-up or a smile rather than typing out a message. Also, the file upload size limit just got a major lift. Previously, you could upload files as large as 100MB. That’s a decent size, but sometimes you need more. Now, you can upload files as big as 2GB. If someone in chat says something out of line or just needs to be deleted, you can get rid of it. Admins will be able to delete a message from the chat. That message won’t be visible to any of the members in the chat. Sick of only having up to 8 people in a voice call? Well, that maximum number of callers was increased to 32 people in a voice call. These new features will definitely make using the app that much better.
