In case you don’t know what this feature is, it’s pretty useful. You can assign up to 150 Twitter followers to be within your Circle. When you’re making a new tweet, you’ll have the option to send that tweet to everyone or to only those within your circle.
Twitter Circles are now available to everyone
Twitter was testing out this feature over the past couple of months, so the general population is only hearing about it today. After some extensive testing, the feature is now available for you to try out. If you’re excited about using Circles, you’ll first want to make sure that the app is up-to-date on your device. Right now, the feature doesn’t seem to be available on the desktop version of Twitter. To make sure your app is updated, there’s a simple way. Either search for Twitter on the Google Play Store or hold your finger down on the Twitter app on the home screen. Press the App Info button (the “!” inside of the circle) and tap on the App Details button on the bottom of the page. This will take you to the Play Store page. Look up top and see if you see the Update button. If you see it, then you may be able to use the Circles feature after that update is installed. If you don’t see the Update button, then you’ll want to wait a few days.
How to use the Circles feature
Using the Circle feature is pretty easy to do. First, you’ll want to add people to your Circle. In the app, open the left side panel and you should see the Circles button about halfway down. You’ll see a menu open up telling what Circles are about and how to use them. Also, if you want to kill two birds with one stone, you can start to make a tweet. Next to your profile picture, you’ll see the pill with the Public option inside. Tap on it and you’ll see the option to tweet to your Circle.
Tap on the Edit button right next to the Circle option. You’ll then see a list of your recommended profiles to add to your circle. Just tap on the Add button next to the accounts and they’ll be added to your circle. At that point, just type your tweet as usual.
