This wouldn’t be the first time that Samsung has had an Unpacked event for its Galaxy A smartphones. It first did it last year, around this same time. As has been the case with the previous few Samsung events, this is going to be a streamed event, taking place on March 17, starting at 10AM ET.

Not as many leaks and rumors surrounding upcoming Galaxy A smartphones

It’s pretty clear that the Galaxy A isn’t as hyped or important to a lot of people as the Galaxy S series is. We’ve seen very little in terms or rumors and leaks for these upcoming phones. But we will likely see a handful announced later this week. Including a new Galaxy A70 series – likely a Galaxy A73. Among some others. The Galaxy A is still important for Samsung. As these phones are cheaper than the Galaxy S lineup, but still offer some of the same features, and some decent specs. For instance, the Galaxy A72 that was announced last year at this event features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, the Snapdragon 720G, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. That is powered by a 5000mAh capacity battery and that’s available for right around $500, depending on where you look. That’s a pretty solid phone for around $500. Either way, we’re likely to get the Galaxy A73 among a few others at Unpacked later this week. And it comes at a perfect time, as the next day, the new iPhone SE (2022) becomes available officially, after pre-orders opened on Friday. Which is a $429 smartphone with a 2014 design. And is going to compete quite nicely with a Galaxy A73.
